The name "El Rafalet is of Arabic origin which resulted from a major moorish population who had settled in the area in the past until they were expelled in 1609.

​

The urbanization was officially approved in 1976 when the building of a few houses started but it was not until well into the 1990´s that a proper infrastructure was put into place. It is now one of the best organized urbanizations managed by an official members association who act as a contact point between the residents and the town hall and other officials.

El Rafalet is located only about a mile or ten minutes away by car from all three centres of Javea; the old town, the port area and the Arenal Beach. 

It is also located very conveniently towards shopping malls and the Motorway. 
 

An ideal and tranquil location for families and retirees alike with top class international and Spanish schools nearby.

It is essentially a residential area whereby houses are occupied all year round.
